Clark Family
Each year we feel called by God to help a family that has been put on our hearts. Our recipient this year is the Clark family. Cherrina is the mother of two, daughter Quashun and her adopted son Charles. She also takes care of her grandchild Zoey, along with her mother Ida. For last eight years she has been a part of the Hope Farms family. Over those eight years, she has mentored young mothers, helped work in the flower beds, clipped coupons in order to buy care packages for Hope Farms kids in college, cooked meals for the staff and children, and driven the bus. Cherrina has recently been laid off from her job as a certified nursing assistant, where she was working with the elderly. Even during this difficult time, she hasn't lost her desire to lend a helping hand to those in need whenever she can. Her current plan is to attend college. She is filling out her FAFSA application and is seeking grants to start classes in the fall at Texas Wesleyan University. The car she is presently driving has broken down several times and has been very unreliable. As a single mother and grandmother, she is not able to afford and doesn't have the ability to keep up with the issues that come with owning a home. There are several items that need immediate attention: stove not working, porch unstable, fence rotten, plumbing leaks, etc. Our goal this year is to raise enough money to get her a new car, cover her insurance for a year, and the necessary repairs to get her home in a safe and working condition.
